Respondr
Public safety

One dispatch console coordinates police, fire and EMS.

Respondr provides a reliable PTT communication platform for law enforcement, fire departments, civil protection and emergency medical services — coordinated across agencies, networks and devices.

Why public safety chooses Respondr

When human lives are at stake, communications must be instant and secure. Respondr keeps redundant links to the radio gateways, encrypts traffic between the app, the console and the server with TLS 1.3 and gives PTT priority to the users who coordinate the response, so their messages get through even when networks are congested during major emergencies.

The platform bridges existing TETRA and DMR radio systems into unified control rooms, enabling interoperability between agencies during joint operations — from local police forces to multi-agency dispatch centers.

Public safety use cases

Major emergency coordination
During natural disasters or major incidents, Respondr links police, fire and medical response on dynamic inter-agency channels. The control room sees the position of every unit, updated in real time.
High-risk police operations
Special units use dedicated encrypted channels with live geolocation. Every communication is recorded for event reconstruction.
Emergency medical response
Ambulance crews and emergency rooms coordinate on dedicated channels, with PTT priority making sure critical calls cut through routine traffic.
Search and rescue (SAR)
Teams stay connected over any available IP connection — LTE or Wi-Fi — and share their GPS position with the operations centre throughout the mission.

One dispatcher position, every agency on it

Each force keeps its own channel strip, with its own fader, patch button and function-key PTT. The dispatcher opens a joint channel between two of them without leaving the screen, and the strips show at a glance who is transmitting.

On the Agencies tab the Fire & Rescue and Medical Team channels are patched, and a banner at the top says so. Victor Lang, who has a higher priority than the dispatcher, is talking on Fire & Rescue, and his voice is relayed on Medical Team.

Emergency-dedicated features

Emergency call
One-button alert that notifies response teams with a 10-second recording and the caller’s location.
Absolute priority
Dispatchers and supervisors override ongoing traffic when a critical message has to get through.
Voice recorder
Every transmission archived and replayable — voice, position and events, ready for audits.
Multi-channel listen
Operators monitor several channels at once for full situational awareness.
Secure access
Multi-factor authentication and role-based permissions down to the single channel.
GDPR compliance
Sensitive data handled according to European data-protection regulations.

Operational benefits

Faster response
Dispatching the nearest unit with integrated live positions saves precious minutes in emergencies where speed decides outcomes.
Agency interoperability
Removes the communication barriers between different forces during joint operations.
Operational continuity
Redundant gateway links and automatic reconnection keep the radio bridge up through a single network fault.
