Airport communications for ramp, handling and security teams.

Respondr connects ground crews, security personnel and flight operators across any device — one professional PTT platform for coordination and 24/7 operational safety.

Why aviation chooses Respondr

Modern airports need reliable, instant communications between dozens of operational teams. From ramp personnel to security staff, from maintenance to catering, every second counts. Respondr removes the limits of traditional radios, delivering clear communications over airport Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G networks — including remote areas of the facility.

The platform integrates with existing radio systems — aeronautical VHF, TETRA and DMR — enabling a gradual transition to modern IP communications without disrupting daily operations.

Aviation use cases

Ground handling coordination
Ground service teams coordinate baggage handling, fuel supply and aircraft cleaning with instant push-to-talk. Integrated GPS shows the position of every operator on the apron.
Airport emergency management
During critical situations, security and emergency services communicate on dedicated encrypted channels. Dispatch creates dynamic patches between operational groups for a coordinated real-time response.
Maintenance & inspections
Technicians receive immediate calls about failures and intervention priorities. Automatic recording gives complete traceability for safety audits.
Terminal & gate operations
Gate personnel coordinate boarding, special passenger assistance and delay management on channels dedicated per terminal area.

A function key for every position

Tower, apron, ground handling and maintenance each get their own PTT key, so an operator answers on the right channel without looking away from the screen. The bindings are set per user, one key per channel.

Four strips of the Airport tab, Ramp Control, DMR Talkgroup 201, Apron VHF and Fire & Rescue, show their online users, volume and patch; the PTT buttons are labeled F1 to F4 and each shows the name of its channel.

Airport-specific features

High-noise environments
Clear PTT audio on loud aprons, paired with professional headsets and noise-isolating accessories.
PTT accessories
Works with professional headsets, wired and Bluetooth PTT buttons and rugged PoC devices.
Gate-to-gate communications
From ticketing to the gate — channels organized around how the terminal actually works.
Live personnel map
The control room sees the position of operational personnel in real time.
Dynamic priority
Emergency communications automatically take precedence over routine traffic.
Calls on record
Radio and app traffic can be recorded with time and channel, so an apron incident can be replayed and reviewed.

Operational benefits

Faster turnarounds
Instant coordination between ground teams speeds up transit operations without new infrastructure.
Lower hardware costs
Uses the smartphones and tablets teams already carry, with professional PTT accessories where needed.
Safer operations
Immediate response to FOD, emergencies and critical situations — with full recordings for post-event analysis and training.
